Itinerary

DAY 1: Cusco – Pallay Punchu - Cusco

➡️ Pick-up in Cusco: Our representative will pick you up at your hotel at 4:00 a.m. to begin the journey south of Cusco.
➡️ Breakfast in Cusipata: After about two hours of travel, we will arrive in the town of Cusipata, where we will enjoy a delicious Andean breakfast.
➡️ Scenic Route: We will continue our journey, passing through the city of Sicuani and several rural communities, until we reach the trailhead where the hike will begin.
➡️ Start of the Hike: We will begin an approximately 30-minute uphill hike along a narrow trail that will lead us to the impressive Pallay Punchu hill. During the ascent, you will contemplate breathtaking landscapes and mountains tinged with reddish hues.
➡️ Pallay Punchu Viewpoint: Upon reaching the summit, on the shores of Lake Langui, you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view with a vibrant palette of colors and the presence of Andean fauna such as alpacas, llamas, vicuñas, and even condors if you’re lucky.
➡️ Cultural Significance: Pallay Punchu means “woven poncho” in local languages, in honor of the traditional garment worn by the ancient Andean people in ceremonies dedicated to Pachamama (Mother Earth). Its multicolored surface—with shades of red, yellow, green, magenta, and ochre—resembles a work of natural art sculpted by time.
➡️ Cultural Interpretation: As you explore the area, your guide will tell you about the flora, fauna, and spiritual significance of these mountains, considered Apus, sacred guardians of the Andes.
➡️ Return and lunch: After exploring this incredible destination, we will begin the return journey on foot to the transport to head to Sicuani, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to Cusco in the afternoon.
